A licensed clinician reviews your intake and determines if treatment is right for you.
If approved, your Wegovy prescription ships from a licensed US pharmacy directly to your door.
Your clinician is available for dose adjustments, check-ins, and questions throughout treatment.
The Wegovy pill is an FDA-approved once-daily tablet for chronic weight management. It contains semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist, and is the first oral semaglutide FDA-approved for long-term weight management.
The tablet pairs semaglutide with SNAC, an absorption enhancer that helps the medication absorb through the stomach. Take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, then wait 30 minutes before eating or drinking.

Average weight loss with Wegovy tablets
The study included 307 adults with obesity, or overweight plus another weight-related health issue. All participants received counseling on a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Results vary, and averages are not a prediction of your individual result.
Semaglutide is the shared ingredient. The products made from it differ in form, dosing schedule, and what the FDA approved them to treat.
The active ingredient in Wegovy® and Rybelsus®. It is not a medication product by itself.
Ingredient onlyAn FDA-approved once-weekly semaglutide injection for chronic weight management in adults.
Once-weekly injectionAn FDA-approved once-daily semaglutide tablet for type 2 diabetes, not weight management.
Once-daily tabletThe FDA-approved once-daily semaglutide tablet for chronic weight management in adults.
Wegovy tablets - Weight LossImportant Note: The tablet and the injection are both Wegovy: the same medication in two forms. The tablet is taken daily on an empty stomach; the injection is taken once a week. Rybelsus® is a different semaglutide product, approved for type 2 diabetes rather than weight management. Your HealthiCare clinician will help determine the right option.
For more detail, see Wegovy's guide to oral and injectable formats.
The exact preparation, dose, and schedule can vary. Follow only the instructions on your own prescription. Doses for Wegovy, Ozempic, or another person's medication may not apply to you.
Every cost is itemized before you pay. Doses 1 and 2 (1.5 mg and 4 mg) are $268.68 per month, and the 9 mg and 25 mg maintenance doses are $448.79 per month. No membership fee is added on top.
The units and syringes of injectable treatment don't apply here. The tablet has its own rule: absorption depends on an empty stomach.
Your prescriber controls the schedule, increasing roughly every 30 days as your body tolerates it. Never adjust your dose on your own.
The information below is drawn from the FDA-approved Wegovy prescribing information and is provided so you can make a fully informed decision.
Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, and stomach pain are the most common side effects. Most are mild to moderate and tend to improve as your body adjusts to the medication.
Drug interaction warning: tell the clinician about every medicine you take. Wegovy can raise the risk of low blood sugar when used with insulin or a sulfonylurea. Because the tablet absorbs in the stomach, it can also affect how other medicines taken by mouth are absorbed, which is part of why the 30-minute wait matters.
Semaglutide may cause thyroid tumors, including thyroid cancer, based on animal studies. Do not use if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Report any neck lumps, swelling, hoarseness, or swallowing difficulty immediately.
Stop using Wegovy and get medical help right away if you experience swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat; difficulty breathing or swallowing; severe stomach pain that will not go away; a severe rash or itching; fainting or dizziness; or a very rapid heartbeat.
Pregnancy
Stop treatment right away if you become pregnant. Wegovy may harm your unborn baby. Contact your clinician right away.
Contact your prescriber right away
Contact your prescriber for severe stomach pain that does not go away, or vomiting or diarrhea that does not stop.
Before surgery or a procedure
Tell all healthcare providers that you take Wegovy before any surgery or procedure involving anesthesia.
