The STEP 1 trial included 1,961 adults with obesity, or overweight plus at least one weight-related condition, who did not have diabetes. Participants received once-weekly semaglutide 2.4 mg or placebo, alongside lifestyle intervention. After 68 weeks, average body-weight change was 14.9% with semaglutide and 2.4% with placebo. Some personalized preparations include vitamin B12 and others do not. Your prescription should tell you exactly what is included. B12 has not been shown to add more weight loss or prevent common side effects.
Semaglutide acts on GLP-1 receptors and may reduce appetite, so you may feel full sooner or be less interested in food. Stomach symptoms are common, especially when treatment starts or the dose changes.
